TRIADIC SYSTEMOGENESIS AND THE THREE MATTERS
The antagonistic dynamisms, in their various balances, create systems. These systems represent the structuring of matter, the perception through the sense organs being just an appearance, an illusion.
The energetic antagonism involves an undefined chain of contradictories: “two antagonistic dynamisms giving rise to a system, this system … will involve an antagonist system of the same order; these two systems will involve a system of antagonistic systems, and so on, according to what we named systemogenesis,” wrote Lupasco.13
The ternary structure of energetic systematizations is reflected in the structuring of three types of matter, which are not isolated or separated: “matter is not based on the ‘dead’ … in order to rise through the biological, from complexity to complexity, to the psyche and beyond: the three aspects represent … three divergent orientations, of which one, of microphysical nature … is not a synthesis of the other two, but rather their struggle, their inhibitory conflict.”14 The conclusion that any event, any system involves a triple aspect—macrophysical, biological, and quantum (microphysical or mental)—is certainly surprising and full of many consequences.
Lupasco never asserted that the microphysical world is the psyche world. He only highlighted the isomorphism between these two worlds that results from the fact that there is nothing of an absolute actuality (reality) and nothing of an absolute potentiality. Lupasco never said that the soul is located inside the electron or the proton or the muon or the neutrino; such a claim would have been, indeed, absurd, because each of the hundreds of known particles is as fundamental as all the other known particles. The microscopic world and the psyche world are two different manifestations of a single tridialectic dynamism. Their isomorphism, similar to that studied by Pauli and Jung, is ensured by the continuous, irreducible presence of the T state in any event.
